A plea for Toffee

I have sent out this appeal twice before with no response, but finally after meeting this dog myself, feel she deserves my efforts one more time.

My friend Zona, who currently lives overseas, has a cocker spaniel in KL. She is called Toffee and lives with Zona's parents in Puchong. 8 years old, female, parents were champion showdogs. Over the past year she has caught cat mites from the neighborhood and now itches uncontrollably. All sorts of medication have not stopped the mites from coming back, and Zona's family can't afford the weekly vet visits to control Toffee's condition. As a last resort to stop her from chewing her skin raw and contracting infections, she has been fitted with a cone that she wears 24 hours a day. She appears distressed and rubs herself all over the house to try and curb the itching, and ends up licking her own cone. Due to her old age, she has severe cataracts and is hard at hearing. But when you call her name, she responds and moves towards your voice. Her demeanor is amazingly gentle and affectionate. She is low maintenance dog with no specific dietary needs. The vet recommended that she gets put down but Zona's parents can't stand the thought. All she needs is a new parasite-free environment so that she can live out her senior years in comfort.

This is an urgent call to anyone who are keen to welcome Toffee into their aura of love as a foster carer or new owner.
