For Adoption: Adult Ginger Tomcat

From rescuer Lainie:
"This fully-grown male ginger cat is looking for a home. He has been trying to adopt several families around the Taman Tun Dr, Ismail area, ousting other cats from their homes and take their place. This includes my cat (he's in my house because he chased her away, went into her cage and ate her food). He alternates between extreme affection and occasional mad fits — I do think it's frustration from wanting to be owned. He's very persistent. Also very, very intelligent"
Lainie is taking him to the vet for neutering / and vaccinations and will cover these costs.

URGENT: Blood Donation Plea for Munchy

UPDATE (29th October 2012): From Munchy's owner Sharmila: "Munchy left us for a better place at 3.30pm on Saturday, 27th October... she was to be exactly 2 years and 9 months that day. Its very painful for both of us but we do know she is no longer suffering. We were on our way to the vet when she passed away. She looked at me, lifted her head one last time and as though she was smiling and saying goodbye her pupils grew dark and big... She took one last breath and passed on. Thank you all and to those who reached out to help us and prayed for Munchy. We have indeed lost a family member but the ways she touched our hearts shall forever be remembered."

UPDATE (21st October 2012): I received the news yesterday that Munchy has successfully received a few transfusions. Her condition is still being observed but is stable enough go home. Several dogs are now on standby to offer blood should her platelet count drop again over the next week. I will update again should there be another plea for blood donations. Thank you to all who spread the word and offered help. Me, Ray, Sharmila and I'm sure Munchy are all extremely grateful.

My friends Ray Cheong and Sharmila have a 3-year old adopted dog called Munchy.

For the past 2 weeks, Munchy has been losing energy. Yesterday, she was suddenly so weak that she was unable to move, and she wet herself.

Munchy is currently at an animal hospital in Puchong, being treated for a dangerously low blood platelet count of 5%. The cause is unknown but the vet suspects a relapse of tick fever - which she had when she was first rescued as a stray and made a full recovery - or another viral infection she picked up from another dog.

Munchy is in desperate need of at least 12 bags of blood for transfusion in order to pull through.

This is an appeal to all dog owners in the Klang Valley who would be able to offer help with a blood donation. The only requirement is that your own dog is healthy and vaccinated. He/She will be sedated for 2 hours and shaved below the neck. Costs will be covered.

Time is running out for Munchy! Please spread the word!

For Adoption: 2 Kittens

From Fanimaly reader, Jenny Chin:

"My husband and I rescued 2 kittens very recently:

The first was a male black and tan kitty we found shivering in fear on the roadside of a very busy flyover (the one in front of 1 Utama). There was no way he would have escaped from the busy traffic.

Male Kitten

The second is a female grey and white kitty we found outside the toilet at Petronas (opposite Eastin Hotel). She was miserable, dehydrated and had an eye infection. We only managed to rescue her 4 hours after we first spotted her and she hardly moved from the same spot.

Female Kitten

They are both doing well now, eye infection cleared. Very fun to watch them play. They love being held especially the grey and white kitty, she would fall asleep on my tummy or chest, very loving. They are both toilet trained. They are yet to be vaccinated or dewormed. I will do that soon.

We did not know how or who will adopt the kittens when we rescued them, we just knew they would not survive or be miserable if we didn't. And now we're looking everywhere for someone who will love them and give them a good home. I can't keep them because we already have many pets (2 cats, 1 dog, 3 hedgehogs and many fishes) in a small condo unit we live in and it is very difficult to manage 2 more cats. We just couldn't bear watching them in such a sorry state and we really hope to find them a home."

For Adoption: Ah Heng

From my friend, Temme:

"I'm leaving the country for an indefinite amount of time and couldn't convince my parents to care for him. :(
Ah Heng was rescued from the pound when he was a puppy. Age about 3 years plus in human years. Gentle nature. Neutered and yearly shots up to date. Low maintenance. Should be walked daily.
He's not very cat friendly but he can be quite friendly to other dogs. Loving but not overly affectionate. Can get quite playful sometimes. Friendly with strangers. Killed a rat at my house once (something I'm not sure if it's a good thing). Obedient, especially to people who are commanding enough! Good geographical bearings, knows how to come home if he runs off."
